Interested in youth work and its value to young people and communities? Concerned that the ways we evaluate youth work don’t always feel right? This website brings together information on our study ‘Rethinking Impact, Evaluation and Accountability in Youth Work’. Click here for a collection of the resources produced during the project: including a film on the value of youth work, a resource for practitioners, policy briefings, peer-reviewed articles and other resources including blogs and a podcast.

Rethinking impact, evaluation and accountability in youth work was an ESRC-funded research project by researchers at Kings College London. While the study is complete, we continue to write and work on these areas, so do get in touch if you are interested.

Over three years (2018-2021), this qualitative research sought to investigate how impact tools and processes were experienced and enacted by young people and practitioners in youth work settings.

It involved young people, youth workers, funders, policy makers and policy makers / policy influencers in sharing, discussing and developing approaches to evaluation and accountability that are congruent with open youth work practice.
